flowers ^.^

just tried my hands at making a wedding bouquet ^_^ feedback would be lovely.
They're purple and green mums and white daises (even tho daises are technically mums also)

update

mkay. I have realized that apparently, I'm not the best at telling people what I want/like (particularly my mom and my almost-mama-in-law) The ideal wedding in my mind is very very simple or rather than simple, it's minimalistic almost. Clean lines, simple whites and bold colors. I think the worst thing someone could say to me about anything involved in our wedding is that it was overkill or too showy.
That said, as cool as the flower covered elephant is, NO, I do NOT intend to have a flower covered elephant at our reception.
... soooo aside from the horrors of trying to explain how I want my wedding to look without coming off mean and being TOO picky
-we've basically taken a sledgehammer to the guest list and as of last night have it down to 137
-I tried my hand at bouquet making last night and am actually really pleased with how it turned out (will post pics later)
-talked about cake so much last night, idk if i will even get CLOSE to eating cake for another 2 weeks
-some insight on this would be helpful to the extreme: we cannot afford to feed all the people we would like to invite to the wedding. I personally (and Kevin too) think that the ceremony is the important part of a wedding even if the reception is the part every guest looks forward to. Would you think it in bad taste to invite only a portion (about half) the people invited to the ceremony to the reception? Would they be honored we wanted them to be at our wedding even if we couldn't afford to have them come to the reception? Or would they feel cheated out of something fun?

dress shopping

These past two weekends, my cousin/bridesmaid/best friend, my mum and I have been visiting malls trying on dresses. After a long, dreamy walk through Nordstrom's (after which she nearly wept, she says it's the most fabulous dept store she's ever lain eyes on... she'd have a coronary in the NYC Nordstrom's hehe). Later I found THIS on their website and I LIKE A LOT-

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2984554/0~2376776~2374327~6022409~6022410?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6022410&P=1

Then I found this blue one (it's actually a prom dress, same as the other but it looks close enough to a bridesmaid dress for me) and I really like the style of this

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3012761/0~2376776~2374327~6022409~6022410?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6022410&P=2

Now this one, we found in New York & Company, it was displayed in the window and we were taking bets on how much it would cost. I said $130, cousin said $150, and Mum said $160...

IT'S $40 !!!!!

because of the cheapness and versatility, I think this maybe be the dress we've been looking for. It's flattering on most body types and the color is really nice.

both Cousin and I like the color of this (and the price!) and the halter though I have a feeling the back of this dress would not be appropriate for a wedding

Now we just have to find something to wear over top of these... they simply don't make dresses winter-worthy any longer do they?

veil and garter ;-)

So, I hadn't realized quite how picky I am till I started gown/veil/garter shopping... or rather, looking at photos online and copying photos I liked. I have no idea how these things will look on me but that's okay because eventually (when I get off my tush and start trying on gowns/veils/ maybe not garters) I will... so in the meantime....

mkay. So I just want to say, even though my mother has told me (numerous times) that she DOES NOT LIKE THE DRESS and it is NOT A WEDDING DRESS. I kindda like it... if only because it's so darn cute and unexpected... now back to the pretty little (rather long actually) headpiece ^_^ I love that it's two different veils made into one. It's both a bird cage and a traditional cathedral lenght ;)

different woman (and dress here) but same basic veil ^_^

--------------------------------------------------

moving onto garters...

now I love lacy wedding gowns like really really bad... but a Lacey hair tie wrapped round my thigh? Not as much... but I don't mind these :)

I actually really like the little pearl bead ^_^
Allofyou
on etsy.com only $14.

while it's rather creepy that these are likely both on some strangers leg... I like this one more than most. Not that horse shoes are my favorite shape but blue is one of our wedding colors and they are good luck and my darling does love him some Irish tradition...

While I am still iffy on doing a garter toss I thought this was amusing. Though topping the cake with this would make me think twice before offering the pastor a slice...

ah. and finally ^_^ I may not be having red in the wedding or quite that much lace but that Nintendo charm would have my ubernerd man laughing hysterically and I think it's totally awesome, in a word.

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_14&listing_id=22719693&ga_search_query=wedding+cake+topper+with+glasses&ga_search_type=tag_title&ga_page=&min=&max=&order=
$117 ... I'm ready to *swoon* because oh, my, the groom-bird is wearing glasses hehe how perfect ^_^ (if WAYYYYY out of our price range)

$70 cuties (ditto on the price comment)

$50 I am in love with these two. I am seriously considering buying them cuz they are just so dang cute (you will notice that Mr. Right and I have a fondness for penguins ^_^)

$20 (and rubber duckies) hehe way too cute and quirky to forget about

updo hairdos ^_^

I really like this style, that it's still up high but almost like she just did it herself (btw: the woman totally looks like Penelope Cruz to me)

even though I am anything but blonde and don't have bangs at all, I really like the simple elegance of this... http://www.promden.com/prom-updo-3.shtml (it's actually a prom website)

I'm not really sure how I feel about the twists all around the top of her head but I really love the height and curls... http://www.promden.com/prom-updos.shtml (same site as the other one)

I think the little hair pin in back really makes this whole hairstyle come together. It's classy if a little laid-back. http://fashiongoes4ward.blogspot.com/2007/12/beauty-blog-chic-updos.html
Jessica Alba

I really like the softness and casualness of this style... Keira Knightley

I love the simplicity of this look ... Jennifer Garner

I can't tell if this reminds me more of a beach or a Princess Bride or both but I love it :)
http://www.brides.com/beauty/hairstyles/gallery/editorspick/detail/125505?f=1541%3a1985&f=582%3a583&offset=9

I am really loving the look of the headband with this. It's casual but classy too :) and you could add a veil or tiara rather than a headband... Sandra Bullock

I really like that it looks completely effortless for her to pull off this look... Vanessa Hudgens

Again, while I don't have bangs or authentic (or any) Spanish heritage , I happen to think Penelope Cruz is nearly the most lovely woman on God's pretty green earth and really like the little bun in back if not the pouf on top.
